Pest and Disease Control
(A). Trusuk. This insect the size of a black ant,

'Biew Kiew' - From Thailand, with more consistent production in Hawaii rather than 'Kohala', but still require a mild winter to flower well. Good quality fruit, then rather than 'Kohala'.

Pulau Tidung'Diamond River' ('Phetsakon') - Klengkeng tropics of Thailand which has a more reliable production in the tropics. The fruit is of medium size, good quality and an early harvest.
'Kohala' - Originally from Hawaii, the most important aquaculture in Florida, but have erratic production in the tropics. Early fruiting, large, good quality, and with small seeds.
'Sri Chompoo' - From Thailand, will bear fruit in Hawaii more consistent than 'Kohala', but still require a mild winter to bloom well. Fruit large and of good quality.
Other cultivars include 'Egami', 'E Wai', 'Edo', 'Edau' and 'Tiger Eye'.
Dimocarpus longan var. malesianus, the cat's eyes, is a subspecies of the more ccok Klengkeng in the tropics.
Use of longan fruit consumption as fresh, dried, frozen and canned.
